Adam Lambert: Exclusive Interview

From primetime TV to a debut record and a tour across an entire Glam Nation, Adam Lambert has learned a lot about who he wants to be as an artist since graduating from American Idol. Pouring his self-realizations into song, the revered Idol alum has returned with his much-anticipated sophomore album Trespassing, and we invited the season eight stunner in to Google Play's Android HQ to test his Dance Dance Revolution moves and tell us all about his last couple years.

In our video interview, the refreshingly down-to-earth Lambert gets deep discussing his shift from performing unconditionally for our entertainment to unleashing his inner outsider with Trespassing. Handling his own writing, producing and even personal styling this time around, Lambert collaborated with songwriting heavyweights like Pharrell Williams and Dr. Luke; the resulting ear candy moves from rousing dance-pop anthems to disco-synth detours and, of course, belted, heartbreaking ballads like lead single "Better Than I Know Myself." See what Adam had to say about making all of the above in this revealing video interview. – Jen Guyre, Google Play

This new album sounds like the best pop album of 2012. Its amazingly rich and every track gets elevated by his vocals. My favourite today is Runnin' - moves like a heart on fire - an exhilirating track.
