Margot mastermind Richard Edwards has stripped away the chamber pop beauty that first defined the Nuclear So and So's and has his leaner rock outfit crank up the guitars. "Shannon" comes off as distorted, sleazy and slightly unhinged, but Edwards' playful lyrics are also emotionally direct on this tale of unrequited love between a guy and his female best friend.
