In its opening week, Emeli Sandé's debut, Our Version of Events, became the first album to knock Adele's 21 off its record-breaking reign at No. 1 on the UK charts. With high hopes for her U.S. album release on June 5th, the Scottish singer/songwriter's first solo single "Heaven" is a trip-hop club anthem with vocals as strong as the lyrics. Strings build on the chorus as Sandé repents: "Oh heaven, I wake with good intentions/ But the day, it always lasts too long." – Laura Checkoway, Google Play
