El Bebeto: From Dance to Romance

Baby-faced singer El Bebeto was last seen behind big black sunglasses, looking pretty emo in the video for "Inténtalo," the number one Latin chart hit by DJ outfit 3Ball MTY. The song paired his rhythmic vocals in time with a hectic electro-Mexican beat that's become a club phenomenon. But El Bebeto usually complements his oceanic eyes with a cowboy hat, and takes it slower on romantic banda-style ballads like "Corazón de Acero," the first single from his new release, Ese Soy Yo, backed by his band Patria Chica.

The tunes on this sophomore album range from the pop-friendly title track to more traditional regional Mexican arrangements like "Un Picaro Cualquiera."
