DJ/producer/cartoonist/fair-trade tea merchant Mr. Scruff is far from what you’d call a minimalist in the world of electronic dance music, but his tracks manage to get a lot of action out of relatively few moving parts. “Kalimba” works one supremely funky, hand drum–accented break beat for the length of its nearly six minutes, but the track’s energy comes from how Scruff plays other elements off that beat. First, an electric piano riff dances in and out of the rhythm in various permutations, shadowed by flaring organ stabs. A deep bassline drops in, along with some madly repeating strings, and, at the song’s peak, it all starts to feel like rather a lot, but Scruff unwinds the track, giving each part room to breathe. It’s a typically jazz- and funk-inflected tune, and is animated in Scruff’s inimitably playful style. -- Eric Grandy

can we listen to the music before we add it please?
I like the idea behind this site for Gmusic, BUT you have got clearly identify the type of music you are promoting under the download link (Rap, Rock, Metal, etc) at least into reasonable broad groups. It's almost impossible to tell from the narratives what is being looked at.
plenty of bangin' 6 hour sets of his on soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/mr-scruff
Scruff is a classic, he is contemporary, and he is epic. Thanks sir!
If you live in Southern California, you can hear this song in the background of the "Gold Guys" commercial.
I swear there is some kind of cult following for this song.
I saw Mr. Scruff (along with Prefuse 73, I think) a number of years back in Orlando. So great!

Not to be a pessimist but isn't this song already free to all Windows 7 users? As it comes default in the Music Library.
Excellent Sounds!!!
Great tunes from Mr. Scruff. Big fan of his material.
I already knew this song. Very good =) Nice piece of work here.
I wish I could listen to the music on here prior to downloading! I found whole albums for free on Spotify though.
Hopefully when it (Google Music) gets out of beta there will be a way to share music.
As of now, I did a search on spotify, and that's the only way to share Mr. Scruff
I didn't know that this song came with my computer until you guys mentioned it. Not everyone has windows 7 and I like this music.
I´d very much like to know why he named the song "kalimba". I mean, I can´t seem to hear a kalimba playing on the track.
Maybe i´m reading too much into it.
