As far as breakout rap singles go, Don Trip's "Letter to My Son" is an uncharacteristically complex one. Rather than aiming for the clubs, Trip gets personal by airing out the gory details of his custody battle with his son's mother. It's an intense and often quite vulgar affair but also a heartfelt one, serving as both an apology and a plea from a man who just wants to see his child.
