Trevor Hall, “Te Amo”

Trevor Hall has been gaining a national audience with an upbeat acoustic sound that matches California style reggae with the bouncy guitar pop of Jack Johnson. With his 2011 Vanguard release Everything Everytime Everywhere Hall branches out and proves that he can handle any style or genre, including mellow Caribbean pop, driving modern rock, rap and folk. “Te Amo” is an earnest and heart-on-sleeve ballad that illuminates the singer’s personality even as it shows how much he has learned from Ben Harper, Dave Matthews and Michael Franti. -- Nick Dedina
